I first moved to Chicago in the early 1980s.  In 1999, I joined the U.S. Department of State in order to serve my country as a U.S. diplomat in seven countries overseas.  When the time came to retire in 2020, there was no doubt where I wanted to be--Chicago.

I love my city and worry each day about the impact of Chicago's public security challenges on our daily lives.  We can take a common sense approach by funding our police in order to fill police vacancies, and holding them accountable for any misconduct.  Without security, our families, communities and businesses cannot flourish.  Please join me in making the city a safer place.
