About me

I moved to Chicago in 1983 to attend the University of Chicago.  After working in both finance and law, I joined the U.S. Department of State in 1999 and worked as a U.S. diplomat representing my country in U.S. embassies and consulates in Mexico City (Mexico), Kuala Lumpur (Malaysia), Delhi (India), Tallinn (Estonia), Kathmandu (Nepal), Karachi (Pakistan) and, most recently, Warsaw (Poland).  I have experience working on conflict situations and applying negotiation skills to produce "win-win" outcomes.  My work as a U.S. consular officer allowed me to assist American citizens overseas navigating foreign criminal justice systems, both as accused offenders and as victims of crime.

I have been so fortunate to have seen so much of the world.  When I retired, there was no hesitation on my decision to return to the city whose diversity, culture and vibrancy are second to none.  I am excited to be living in Andersonville--the heart of the 20th Police District.
